How Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Works
This form of care involves two separate roles: psychotherapy with Andrea and medical care with an appropriate medical provider. It helps to know who handles which part.

Two Different Roles
What Andrea Provides
At Open Heart Healed Mind, Andrea provides psychotherapy, preparation, and integration only. She does not screen you medically, prescribe ketamine, dispense medication, or monitor a medical treatment. Those responsibilities belong to a separate, appropriate medical provider. The distinction matters when you are considering what an appointment involves and whom to contact about medical questions.
Psychotherapy may give you room to name what you hope to address, talk about current supports, and consider what comes up in relation to the work. Preparation is a clinical conversation about your goals and readiness for psychotherapy. Integration is time to discuss your experience and its meaning afterward. Neither part is a substitute for independent medical assessment or medical follow-up.
Medical Care
The Provider Who Makes Medical Decisions
A separate medical provider handles screening, prescribing, medication, and monitoring. That provider decides whether medical treatment is appropriate and explains the medical process, risks, and costs. Andrea cannot make that decision for the provider or for you. If you have questions about medications, physical effects, or medical eligibility, they belong with the provider responsible for that care.
There are separate medical and ketamine costs beyond the psychotherapy fee. Ask the medical provider directly about their charges and procedures rather than assuming they are included in the therapy appointment. If care involves coordination, the roles and any information-sharing should be discussed with you. You deserve to know who is responsible for which decision before committing to a plan.
Therapeutic Time
Preparation and Integration in Practice
In preparation, Andrea may ask what is happening in your life, what you have tried before, and what support is available outside sessions. The conversation can clarify what psychotherapy could reasonably address and whether this format fits your concern. It does not determine medical eligibility. You can also discuss privacy, scheduling, and what you would want to revisit later.
Integration means making room to speak about what stood out and how it connects to the concerns that brought you to therapy. There is no particular insight you must report. Andrea can help you examine what you noticed. A plan for ongoing care depends on your needs and the roles of the professionals involved.
Fees and Access
Understand the Full Arrangement
The Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy Intensive is about 180 minutes and starts at $1,500 for psychotherapy, plus separate medical and ketamine costs. A $100 consultation is required before any intensive, with the $100 credited in full toward your first paid session or intensive. The consultation is where Andrea can discuss her psychotherapy role and whether this format is an appropriate option to consider.
Therapy services are available by secure telehealth for clients physically located in Texas, Colorado, or Idaho at the time of their session. The medical provider's availability and requirements are separate; do not assume the same arrangements apply. If you are comparing this option with EMDR, ERP, or regular therapy, a consultation can address the therapeutic fit.
If you already have a therapist or medical provider, ask how care would be coordinated and who would answer questions at each stage. You can ask whether a release of information would be needed, and what you are comfortable sharing. It is reasonable to take time with these practical questions. A clear division of responsibilities helps you understand the service without assuming that psychotherapy includes medical supervision.
A Next Step
When to Reach Out
If you are considering this option, ask Andrea what preparation and integration would involve for your concern. Bring medical questions to the separate medical provider responsible for screening and treatment. You can request the $100 consultation before deciding whether this psychotherapy format makes sense.
