EMDR Intensive

The Focus

Time to Stay with the Work

When a specific memory or experience keeps showing up in how you feel, react, or relate, the start-and-stop rhythm of a weekly appointment may feel difficult. An EMDR intensive offers an extended block to approach that material with more continuity.

This is focused trauma treatment, not a requirement to revisit everything at once. Preparation, pacing, and what feels appropriate to address are part of the clinical work.

The Session

What Your Intensive Includes

  1. Assessment and Planning

We clarify the concern, your history, and what is appropriate to work on in this format.

  2. Preparation and Resourcing

There is time to establish support and a workable pace before moving into processing.

  3. Identifying Targets

Together we identify memories, beliefs, or experiences that are clinically appropriate to address.

  4. Extended EMDR Processing

An extended period allows more continuity while Andrea attends to your responses and needs.

  5. Integration Recommendations

You leave with a conversation about what emerged and what care may be useful afterward.

Is This a Fit?

You have a specific trauma, memory, loss, relationship experience, or recurring emotional pattern you want to approach with more continuity than weekly sessions offer. In consultation, you and Andrea can consider whether EMDR and an intensive format fit your needs now.

The Practical Details

Before You Book

A $100 consultation is required before any intensive. The $100 is credited in full toward your first paid session or intensive.

Intensives have a separate deposit and cancellation policy, disclosed before booking.

EMDR intensive sessions by video are for people in Texas, Colorado, or Idaho at treatment time. An in-person EMDR intensive may be possible in Austin; Andrea will discuss arrangements at consultation.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know which memory to work on?

No. Assessment and treatment planning help identify appropriate targets together. The consultation also helps determine whether this format is a fit.

What if I need more preparation before processing?

Preparation and resourcing are part of the work. The plan and pace respond to what is clinically appropriate, rather than assuming processing must fill the entire appointment.
