When You Feel Like Roommates

Emotional Distance in Long-Term Relationships

You can share a home and a calendar and still miss the feeling of being known by each other.

A Quiet Kind of Distance

When Everything Works Except Closeness

The household runs. You coordinate appointments, meals, and plans. Yet when the practical talk ends, there is little left to say. One of you may reach for a deeper conversation and give up when the answer is brief. The other may not realize how lonely the silence has become.

Distance can grow without a dramatic rupture. Years of missed bids, unresolved hurts, or simply making it through busy seasons can change how safe a question feels. Andrea helps you examine the particular way it happened in your relationship rather than assuming all long-term couples drift for the same reason.

In the Conversation

Find What Goes Unsaid

In couples sessions, Andrea might ask what each of you misses about how you once talked. You can look at the moment a conversation turns logistical and what either of you is afraid would happen if it went further. That may include anger, grief, longing, or uncertainty about whether the other person still wants to know you.

The work can include an ordinary recent scene: one partner came home, the other kept working, and both made a private conclusion about what it meant. Speaking those conclusions aloud can reveal where a request for connection became a silent test.

Ways to Work

Consistent Time for What Matters

Couples and Sex Therapy is $300 for 50 minutes. The sessions can address emotional and physical intimacy without assuming they are the same issue. Returning regularly gives both of you a place to notice what changed at home and what still feels hard to ask.

A Couples & Intimacy Intensive is $1,750 for 180 minutes when a concentrated, extended conversation is appropriate. A $100 consultation is required before booking. The $100 is credited in full toward your first paid session or intensive.

An Ordinary Evening

Listen for the Missing Bid

01A practical question may hide a wish to spend time together.

02A short answer may reflect fatigue rather than lack of care.

03An unspoken assumption can become a story about the whole relationship.

Loneliness inside a relationship is worth saying aloud.

Where You Meet

Space for Both Voices

Sessions are offered by secure telehealth while you are located in Texas, Colorado, or Idaho. Each partner needs privacy and enough time to take part without multitasking. Andrea can discuss what participation would look like in the consultation.

You may not know whether you want to repair the relationship or simply understand how it came to feel this way. You can say that honestly. A session does not require a shared conclusion before either of you is ready to speak.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What if one of us is not sure we want to reconnect?

Uncertainty can be part of the conversation. Andrea does not require a promise about the relationship's future to begin assessing fit.

Does this include sexual concerns?

If they matter to you, yes. Couples and Sex Therapy can address both emotional distance and intimacy through conversation.
