Insight and the Stuck Point

When You Have Done Therapy Before

You know the words for your pattern. You might even know where it started. It still shows up when it matters.

What You Already Know

The Explanation Is Familiar

You may have spent years learning to name a trigger, notice a thought, and understand why an old reaction makes sense. Then you get the same intrusive doubt at night, freeze during a conversation, or agree to something you did not want. The knowledge was real; so is the stuck point.

Andrea does not ask you to start over by telling your history from the beginning unless it is useful. She asks where the pattern shows up now, what you do next, and what previous therapy made clearer. That gives your past work a place in the conversation without pretending it settled everything.

What You Bring Forward

A Useful Starting Inventory

01The part of earlier therapy that actually helped.

02A pattern that still happens despite knowing why.

03A current moment you want to examine more closely.

You do not have to discard old insight to ask for different work.

A Different Focus

Work With the Moment It Happens

If OCD is part of the picture, understanding a thought is not the same as changing the checking or reassurance that follows it. Andrea is Certified in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention) and can discuss how practice might fit. For trauma, she is EMDR trained and considers readiness and stabilization before deciding on a method.

You might examine a recent incident in detail rather than recount the same summary at every appointment. What did you notice in your body? What did you predict? What response felt unavoidable? The specifics help clarify what kind of work fits the concern.

Care Options

A Rhythm or a Longer Meeting

Individual Therapy is $225 for 50 minutes and gives you a place to return to real situations between sessions. An Extended Specialty Session is $395 for 90 minutes when more time is appropriate for a specific piece of work.

An EMDR Intensive or ERP/OCD Intensive is $1,500 for 180 minutes of concentrated therapeutic time. A $100 consultation is required before any intensive. The $100 is credited in full toward your first paid session or intensive. The format is discussed after assessing fit.

A Place to Return

You Can Arrive With Questions

Andrea provides secure telehealth to people located in Texas, Colorado, or Idaho at the time of care. You can tell her what helped in other therapy and what felt repetitive or incomplete. That information matters when considering the next approach.

You do not need a perfect account of why the old work did not finish the problem. You can begin with one current situation that shows the gap between what you know and what happens. Andrea can help decide whether specialized or extended care fits that gap.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to repeat my whole history?

Not automatically. Andrea asks for context relevant to the present concern and builds on what you already know.

How is an intensive different from weekly care?

It offers concentrated, extended therapeutic time for a specific concern. The required consultation considers whether that format fits you.
