Care Without a Defense
LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy
You should be able to discuss what is happening without spending the appointment educating your therapist.

A Place to Begin
Your Identity Is Not the Intake Problem
You might come in for OCD, grief, relationship strain, or the exhaustion of holding too much. You should not have to explain basic terms before the actual concern can be heard. Andrea is affirming of LGBTQIA+ clients and of different relationship structures, including kink, ENM, and polyamory.
That does not mean assuming every difficulty is about identity. If an experience of rejection matters, there is room to talk about it. If it does not, the appointment can focus on the concern you named. You decide what context matters.
In the Session
Work With What Is Actually There
Andrea asks what has been difficult and what happens when the pattern shows up. You might discuss an intrusive thought and the reassurance that follows it, or a conversation with a partner that ends in silence. Treatment is chosen for the concern, not an assumption attached to identity.
For OCD, Andrea is Certified in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention). She is EMDR trained for trauma work and has specialized training in sex therapy. You can ask how those approaches relate to your circumstances without being pushed into a method before you have been heard.
Ways to Work
An Individual or Shared Appointment
Individual Therapy is $225 for 50 minutes. If intimacy or sexual shame is the primary concern, Sex Therapy is $250 for 50 minutes. Couples and Sex Therapy is $300 for 50 minutes when partners want to speak together about a shared difficulty.
A $100 consultation can help you discuss which offer fits without asking you to summarize your entire life in one note. You can focus on the question that brought you here and clarify the rest in conversation.
What You Set Down
No Introductory Lecture Required
01The need to define your identity before discussing the concern.
02An expectation to defend a consensual relationship structure.
03The assumption that identity explains every problem you bring.
The question that matters is what you want help with.
Access
Care in the State Where You Are
Andrea offers secure telehealth in English or Spanish to adults and couples located in Texas, Colorado, or Idaho at the time of their session. There is no requirement to justify your relationship structure to ask for help with a specific problem.
If you have had to correct a therapist before, you may be careful about what you share at first. You can name that hesitation. Andrea can answer direct questions about how she works, and you can decide what detail feels useful in an early session.
