When Everything Changes
Therapy for New Parents
A new baby can bring love, exhaustion, fear, and a version of yourself you do not recognize yet.

A Different Day
There Is No Quiet Way to Adjust
Your time may be broken into short pieces. You might miss the person you were before a baby while caring deeply about the child in front of you. A partner may seem distant even when both of you are doing all you can. These feelings can be difficult to say when people expect only gratitude.
Andrea can make room for the details of a day: when the worry starts, what you do to settle it, and how much rest is actually available. Andrea helps you identify what is happening for you in the middle of a changed day.
Thoughts You Fear Saying
Look at the Pattern Around the Thought
Some parents experience unwanted, frightening intrusive thoughts about a baby. The distress often comes from how much the thought contradicts what they value. Andrea assesses the full picture, including any immediate safety concerns, and can look at checking, avoidance, and reassurance when OCD is part of the cycle.
You can also bring ordinary relationship strain: the conversation about night care that never finishes or the resentment neither of you wants to admit. Andrea does not ask you to choose one concern before a consultation. If you are worried about immediate safety, call or text 988 or call 911. This practice is not an emergency service.
Care Options
An Appointment That Fits the Concern
Individual Therapy is $225 for 50 minutes. Sessions can focus on intrusive thoughts, identity shifts, anxiety, or the relentless demands of caring for a new baby. If OCD is involved, Andrea is Certified in ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention); the work can address the rituals that follow a frightening thought.
Couples and Sex Therapy is $300 for 50 minutes when both partners want to address roles, touch, or the conversations that keep getting postponed. The first step is to discuss who is seeking care and what kind of support fits, rather than assuming that both people need to attend every appointment.
A Day in Focus
What a First Conversation Might Cover
01When rest is possible and when worry gets loudest.
02Whether an intrusive thought leads to checking or avoidance.
03How you and your partner divide the hours that feel hardest.
You can care for your baby and still need room for your own experience.
Where We Meet
Telehealth During a Changing Season
Andrea offers secure telehealth while you are located in Texas, Colorado, or Idaho. You will need privacy for the conversation; the logistics of care with a new baby are real and can be discussed before choosing a format.
You can start by describing a single difficult hour of the day. Does the fear rise when you are alone? Does the argument begin when both partners are exhausted? Those details help shape a conversation that fits your actual circumstances rather than a generic idea of parenthood.
